  • description: As explained in the video why, at the end of December, I'm going to be closing down the current four level membership system. Starting in January 2026, there will be just one membership level here on YouTube, which is Senior Officer. So, if you're currently a member of Senior Officer, you don't have to do anything. That level will stay. The other three will go, this simplifies everything and lets me focus on the perks that you've told me are the ones you actually value the most. Now, here's what Senior Officer members will now get as a minimum: * early access to every single video completely ad free, not just early, but permanently ad free for members forever. * exclusive on cruise updates. These are the updates I do while I'm actually on a trip, like the ones I did recently for Regent Splendor Caribbean cruise, and I will be doing on my upcoming Oceania Riviera Sydney to Papeete Cruise, of course, showing you what I'm seeing, what's working, what's not working, giving you kind you’re travelling with me feeling. One of the things that YouTube memberships can't do is something that many people I know would like, and that's direct messaging. You can't send me questions privately or ask for tips directly as a YouTube member because of the way it's structured. But on Patreon, you can at patreon.com/tipsfortravellers. I send out more frequent updates with more detailed posts because I can make those look much more like blog posts. So, if direct access or more frequent updates matter to you, Patreon might be of more interest to you than Channel Memberships. But I also know that not everyone wants a paid tier. So there's also a free level, by the way, on Patreon where I still share some posts that never appear on YouTube. That's an option if the membership perks or costs here or over on Patreon doesn't appeal to you.
