        I’m currently stuck on the canal because of a breach, but I don’t feel trapped. There’s a difference between stillness and stagnation, and boat life somehow gives me both stillness and movement.

As I cruise, I’m chatting about why travel — even slow, local travel — is genuinely good for the soul, and how changing your surroundings can energise you in ways you don’t always expect.

Once I’m moored up, that sense of movement doesn’t stop.

We head out to Bala in North Wales — fresh air, big space, and a proper reset for the mind. Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid) looks calm and peaceful, but it’s full of history and stories that have been told for centuries.

I also visit the Mary Jones Pilgrim Centre and learn about the incredible story of a 15-year-old girl who walked 26 miles barefoot to Bala in 1800 — a reminder that movement, determination, and belief have always mattered.

This vlog is a mix of:
– Boat life and quiet cruising
– Why movement matters, even when you’re “stuck”
– Finding adventure whatever the circumstances
– Fresh air, walking, and resetting your head
– Bala Lake, Welsh history, and the Mary Jones story
– Bonny’s ongoing mission to experience every new smell 🐾

Adventure doesn’t always mean going far.

Sometimes it’s just choosing to move anyway.
